CastReader currently creates a private clone only from a living voice owner’s guided recording. A family relationship, old recording, or good intention does not replace the person’s consent.

The owner records and confirms consent
Creation starts from a live, guided recording and an explicit ownership confirmation.
Sharing is private and recipient-bound
Voice Gift is limited to one named email, personal TTS, and a 7, 30, or 90 day expiry.
Access can be ended
The owner can revoke a gift, the recipient can remove it, and deleting the source voice revokes every grant.
There is no public voice listing
Private clones and invitation pages are not placed in the public catalog or indexed for discovery.
Not a roadmap promise
Minimum gate before any future evaluation
CastReader would not evaluate a posthumous workflow unless all of these controls could be verified and enforced together.
- Specific lifetime consent for AI voice cloning and posthumous TTS—not a general recording release.
- Verified identity plus a named steward authorized to manage the consent record.
- Named recipients, an exact personal purpose, and no public, commercial, political, or impersonation use.
- A defined expiry and review cycle instead of permanent access by default.
- Clear AI disclosure wherever the generated audio could be mistaken for a real recording.
- Revocation and deletion while the owner is living, plus enforceable steward and abuse-reporting controls afterward.
What this means for you
Do not upload recordings of a deceased person or attempt to recreate their voice in CastReader. Use the current tool only for your own voice, or accept a Voice Gift created directly by the living voice owner.
