Your voice can stay with a story while the manuscript changes
Authors rarely finish a book in one pass. A line changes, a scene moves, and a chapter needs another review. Voice-clone narration is most useful when it makes those revisions audible without sending the author back to the microphone after every edit.
CastReader treats audiobook creation as a sequence of recoverable parts. The visible 4,200-character boundary and seven-request cap make failures easier to resume and individual passages easier to regenerate after editorial changes.
The human relationship still matters. An author can listen with an editor, collaborator, or trusted first reader and decide whether the pacing and pronunciation serve the story. The generated voice does not make those editorial choices.
A WAV part is not a finished commercial audiobook. Publishing requires rights to the manuscript and voice, disclosure where applicable, chapter assembly, mastering, final listening, and compliance with the chosen distributor.

Can I generate an entire book in one request?
No. The current Pro document workflow exports one bounded part at a time. Each part is limited to 4,200 characters and at most seven sequential synthesis requests so progress remains visible and recoverable.
What file types can I open?
The local web reader supports authorized DRM-free PDF, EPUB, DOCX, TXT, Markdown, and HTML sources. CastReader does not bypass DRM or import protected Kindle purchases.
What happens if I revise the manuscript?
Reopen the updated text and regenerate the affected bounded part with the same private clone. You do not need to create the voice again for each edit.
Is the WAV ready for Audible or another distributor?
No. It is a reviewable audio part, not a mastered, chaptered, distributor-ready package. You remain responsible for editing, mastering, rights, disclosure, and platform requirements.
Can I use another person’s cloned voice as narrator?
Only through an active Voice Gift personally authorized by the living voice owner for your requester account and private TTS use. No recipient email is needed to deliver the gift. Do not upload another person’s recordings or assume a relationship replaces consent.
