Two people falling in love on a film set sounds like an escape. In John Green’s Hollywood, Ending, the more interesting question is what a public love story leaves out. Kai Laramie and Juniper Castillo are young actors working on Andy Warhol Never Gets Old. The novel alternates their perspectives, inviting a comparison between the image an audience sees and the experience of the people producing it. Those are the starting conditions in the publisher’s description, rather than a promise that every reader will find the romance convincing.
If you came here for the English EPUB, start with the Wake County Libraries edition. It lists a complete EPUB ebook, ISBN 9781101592434, as well as browser reading and Kindle options. This is a library loan requiring an eligible library card, not an unrestricted free file. There is also a protected English EPUB purchase edition on Kobo. Neither should be mistaken for a DRM-free download that can simply be dropped into any TTS reader.

Getting the EPUB: borrow first, then compare the store edition
The library record is useful because it identifies the actual work and formats. Open it, confirm the author is John Green, and check whether you can borrow or must place a hold. Wake County’s lending eligibility applies; a card from another library does not automatically grant access. If you use a different library, search its catalog for the same title and author, using the US ebook ISBN above to distinguish this novel from other books called Hollywood Ending.
After an eligible loan, use the reading or download option your library provides. An EPUB library loan is time-limited and can require Adobe Digital Editions or another authorized reader. An ACSM file, if supplied, is a license file used to obtain the protected book; it is not the novel itself. The public record confirms EPUB availability, but we have not borrowed this edition or tested its account-specific download steps.
For ownership, the Kobo listing checked here is the English UK edition, ISBN 9780141346069, published by Penguin Random House Children’s UK. Its download details say EPUB 3 (Adobe DRM). The store page is a purchase entry, not a direct download, and availability depends on your country and account. The different ISBN does not mean it is a different John Green novel, but it does identify a different regional edition.
We did not verify an authorized, freely downloadable complete English EPUB or PDF. A site offering a preview, a summary, or an account signup has not thereby supplied the whole novel. If an unrestricted file is essential to your reading setup, check the format before paying rather than assuming the word “EPUB” guarantees compatibility.
Decide whether the filmmaking or the romance is your reason to read
Green announced this as his first adult novel, released September 22, 2026. “Adult” is useful context for readers arriving from his earlier books, but it is not a verdict on whether this particular story will suit you.
The visible Goodreads responses suggest two different attractions. In a September 22 advance-copy review, imogen particularly valued the filmmaking detail and the emotional direction of the later story. In a September 25 review, Lindsey found the characters and romantic connection unpersuasive. More recently, Tina’s October 5 response found the industry material interesting while remaining less convinced by the relationship’s emotional force. These are individual reactions, not a representative survey.
That disagreement offers a useful way to choose. If your main pleasure is watching a convincing couple develop, read a sample until you have encountered both perspectives. Ask whether each person feels distinct to you. If you are interested in the machinery around fame—work, publicity, expectation, and the pressure to look convincing—you may have a reason to continue even before deciding how you feel about the couple.
This is also why the title is worth keeping in mind without demanding a particular ending. A satisfying public story and a satisfying private life need not be the same thing. Let the book establish what each character wants before judging whether the relationship solves it.
A small reading habit that makes the two perspectives easier to follow
At each change of viewpoint, make a one-line note: what does this person want in this scene, and what does the other person think they want? Add a third distinction when relevant: what would an observer on set believe?
That gives you something more useful than a running list of whether a character is likable. You can track misunderstandings, the difference between performance and honesty, and how your own reading changes when you receive information the other character lacks. For a reading group, compare the earliest scene in which you felt the two accounts diverged; you can discuss that without jumping straight to the ending.
If you are listening while doing something else, pause at a viewpoint change long enough to identify the speaker’s perspective. The goal is to preserve that distinction, not to race through a short number of pages. Page totals vary by edition and display settings.
Listening: choose the recorded edition or a supported text route
The official audiobook listing credits Zachary Chastain, Julia Whelan, and John Green, with a listed duration of 8 hours 41 minutes. That is a separately produced performance. This guide has not auditioned the complete recording, and TTS should not be described as reproducing those narrators.
For text you already have access to, CastReader offers a different approach: read a supported page aloud while following its words. Start with the CastReader download page, choose your device, and use the Kindle reading guide if your eligible loan or purchased edition is available in the supported Kindle reading interface. Access to a Kindle edition does not establish that you can export its EPUB.
If you separately obtain a compatible, unencrypted EPUB, the CastReader EPUB workspace can import it. The Adobe DRM Kobo edition and protected library loans described above are not direct-import files. Local EPUB parsing happens in the browser; choosing a cloud voice sends reading text for speech generation. On-device voices need no account, while CastReader AI requires sign-in and follows plan limits.
Choose the route around the edition you can actually open. For this book, an eligible library loan is the first practical check; the official recording is the clearest choice when a produced performance matters more than following the text on screen.
