WORKED EXAMPLES

Compare the details that change what a sentence means

Museum hours and the last entry time

Original

The museum opens at 9 a.m. and is closed on Mondays. Please enter before 4 p.m.

Saved translation

博物馆上午9点开放,周一闭馆。请在下午4点前入馆。

What to check in the result

周一闭馆 preserves the weekly closure. 下午4点前入馆 preserves the entry cutoff; it does not say that the museum closes at 4 p.m.

An original sample passage, translated by the CastReader translation service on 2026-11-04. A new translation may use different wording.

Try “Museum hours and the last entry time” in the example selector above

Two deadlines in one reservation

Original

Your reservation is held until 6 p.m. If you arrive later, please call us before 5 p.m.

Saved translation

您的预订将为您保留至下午6点。如果您会晚些到达,请在下午5点前致电我们。

What to check in the result

The reservation lasts until 6 p.m., but the call must happen before 5 p.m. if arrival will be late. Do not combine those two deadlines into one.

An original sample passage, translated by the CastReader translation service on 2026-11-04. A new translation may use different wording.

Try “Two deadlines in one reservation” in the example selector above

Read the English source

Keep the sentence around “you”, “they” and contractions such as “I’ll”. A short fragment may leave the recipient, number or intended tense unclear.

Review the Chinese (Simplified) result

Check that the output uses simplified characters and the intended terminology. A character change alone does not guarantee the wording suits a particular region.

Listen in Chinese (Simplified)

Mandarin voices may choose different readings for polyphonic characters and names. Check those words against context rather than treating the audio as a pronunciation authority.

Before you begin

How do I translate English to Chinese (Simplified) and hear it?

This page starts with English as the source and Chinese (Simplified) as the target. Paste text or try the example, then translate. Press Read translation after the result appears. Translation and playback are separate actions.

Why is Chinese (Simplified) reading unavailable on my device?

Reading uses voices supplied by your device. Without a matching Chinese (Simplified) voice exposed to the browser, the reading button is disabled. Translation and copying remain available. You may need to reopen the page after installing a voice.

Can I translate Chinese (Simplified) back into English?

After translating, swap to use the Chinese (Simplified) result as the new original, or open the reverse-direction page. Back-translation helps compare wording but does not prove the first translation is correct.
